The interesting solution though seems to have come from microsoft. I had installed the new drivers with no avail. I then allowed the Device and printer section to obtain more info from the printers.
A little while after this when re-attempting the drivers, it registered two versions of the same driver. Media: I don't think this file would be the issue unless it was related to a shared file. The corrupt file suggestion though enlightens me to something I have not yet done on the PC - I have not hard deleted the printer drivers rom the pc.

From each machine on clients network, I printed a test page from the printer in Windows. The printout showed me the printer driver versions installed on each machine. Have you already identified the problem area by determining that it is printing specifically from calender that crashes the program? You would do this by printing from other programs to see if the fault happens there too. What printer are you using?
